Tuesday Photo Challenge – Animals 21st April

Today’s theme is animals, and the last time this one was used was January 17th 2017, which happened to be Maggie’s birthday!
Dogs are very much a part of my life, and Maggie at 15, is the oldest I have had in my adult life. Recent posts have chronicled that she’s been suffering from gastric problems lately, but things are improving though we are still being careful not to overload her tummy, even though she whinges about it!

These are a couple of beauties I took pictures of last year

Whereas the top two pictures are of the same dog, the above are an adult and pup!

Maggie will always be our baby though. She’s showing her age big time now, but we still remember her as the 7 week old pup we brought home on Friday 11th March 2005.
I took this one last week:
but this will always be one of my favourites

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

My husband had to pet a puppy on our walk today – it was a Great Pyrenees at only 9 weeks old and already the size of a cocker spaniel! That was the highlight of my husband’s day!! He really misses our dog but I’m not ready for another one!

    • Wow, I would have been in too!! I can appreciate not being ready for another though. When Barney died, it was so unexpected, we weren’t ready, and I lasted 6 days before getting Maggie. When her time comes to go to Rainbow Bridge (which we hope won’t be for a while and on her own terms), I don’t want another.
I love to pet the pups and dogs here on our walks, but of course can’t now. They don’t understand. There is a beautiful GSD behind us and the lady drops the lead so that the dog can amble over for fuss if it wants some.

  2. I looove these. Those first two photos are amazing. Is that a long haired German Shepherd?

  3. Very sweet! We love our pet babies!

  4. I love dogs. I would be one of those animal hoarders if I had less self control!
