It is another lovely day here, pity our seedlings aren’t coming out to enjoy it, grrrr!!!
As most of us cannot visit our friends and following on from our little tea party on the drives yesterday, how about this for the next best thing?
It’s a sort of share your house virtual invite without the visitors or washing up.
How many doors does your property have (rooms, back, front etc)
Do you have a separate lounge to entertain your guests or do you prefer to congregate round a table in the kitchen?
Do you have a garden?
Do you have the radio/music on when you have visitors.
Do you prefer a group of guests or just one or two at a time?
Do you provide biscuits or cake?
Do you keep specific crockery (mugs, cups, plates) for visitors only?
Do you have pictures on the wall?
Do you have flowers indoors?
OK, my answers are:
We only have one door in and out of the property, but have six interior doors.
We have a lounge diner, but I would love to have a huge kitchen.
Our garden out back is a good size and now has a greenhouse.
No music or distractions when we have visitors as we like to chin.
These days I prefer to have one or two visitors at a time.
If I’ve made cake, it’s offered, but most times it’s biscuits.
We have a special cup for our neighbour and a set of four matching mugs for other visitors.
We have a variety of things hanging up on the wall, including a 1000 piece puzzle, a photograph of Barney and a framed miniature traditional New Zealand cloak my sister in law made.
I love cut flowers and have them sometimes, but at the moment there are some artificial ones in a vase by the front door and a small posy Hubby put together for me in 1994 when we were in our first house (1990 – 1996).
Welcome to our home:
Take a seat and I’ll put the kettle on. Tea or coffee?
Keep safe everyone.
So nice. Thanks for sharing your home.😁 Stay Safe too!
thanks for dropping by
Thanks for welcoming us to your home and garden. Mine is too much of a mess right now for photos. But you’ve inspired me.
Have fun in the sun Fransi. Hubby is levelling up the ground and has discovered he can have a 6 X 8 shed! Hurrah! Workshop aka Man Cave
That is fabulous Di!! Will be waiting to see photos.
Can’t get a shed yet as all outlets to purchase one are closed and buying online is a bit iffy, but getting all the groundwork done is more than half the battle. We have a little combined sink and burner unit in the roof which we were going to put in the boat when we revamped the kitchen but sold up beforehand. Then he can have a camp bed, log burner, settee, microwave………………….. lol
Wow!! Definitely a man shed!! He must be very excited. It’s great to have something to look forward to.
Dartboard won’ fit………………………
Ahhhh … he’ll have to come home for that then
hehe
Lol
I’d love a coffee…lots of milk, two sugars and only about ten grains of coffee please!
On its virtual way. Biscuit? Gingernut or custard cream?
oh a gingernut please…thanks! I love your garden.
You’re welcome. Enjoy.
Pingback: RESPONSE TO DI’S QUESTIONS ON HER BLOG
Lovely, Di. I have put my answers on my blog. Sorry no pics as hubby is not here to help me put them on. Ours is just an ordinary semi detached house.
I shall read it shortly. You doing OK today?
Kind of. Hubby managed to get his wheelchair upstairs out of the car yesterday, thang goodness. Wish we could go out for a short drive though. It’s a terrible feeling being imprisoned
At least we can get out in the garden or take the dog for a walk, though her tummy still isn’t right.
Aww. So sad about her tummy. My nephewwhom we hardly ever talk to said to us this morning to put bags of shopping into the car so the police can’t stop us so that we could then go out for our exercise period having a drive round the town! I daren’t though.
Would be nice if he brought some shopping to you……………….
He lives a fair distance away
One front main door to come in and out of my apartment. (or flat as I call it.)
My living space is living space and dining room combined, with a small kitchen. But although small kitchen, plenty of cupboards and workspace to any kitchen I have had in the past.
I usually have only 2 guests on average and we sit at the dining table. 3 guests may be rare moments. I can follow conversation easy when it’s one or two. It gets hard from 3.
I don’t have music on as it is awkward for me when having a conversation. It will be mugs of tea. No special mugs for the ocassion. Sometimes biscuits offered if I have them. May be brought by guests.
In the past when one friend has come over, we may odd ocassion watch a dvd.
Where I live, there is a communal yard and garden.
I have one large canvas print on the wall of my cat I last had. Miley.
I have one plant indoors. My peace lily. I killed my parlour palm some time back. And I have some fake blue little flowers on my dining table that some guests admire.
Sounds lovely Liz. Thank you for the insight into your home.
