The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS April 11/2020

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “joint.” Use it as a noun, an adjective, or a verb–use it any way you’d like.

Working in the garden is very much a joint effort at the moment. We’ve never owned a greenhouse before, and dismantling that and reassembling it was also a joint affair.
We had four breakages which wasn’t at all bad bearing in mind we had to carry the panes of glass two at a time from our neighbour’s garden into ours. Putting it back together was a puzzle and a half but we’re good at those too.
Now it’s up and running and we have our first shoots showing in the soil. Planting those was a joint exercise too, me making a trough and Hubby sprinkling in the seeds, then covering them over. My job to water.
Just wish our tomatoes would make a show though. We’re on a third lot now as the first two attempts failed miserably. OK, they were old seeds from a couple of years ago, but still ‘in date’ according to the packet. It was a joint decision to confine those to the bin and get a new packet.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Good luck with your greenhouse and the tomatoes. It will be worth it when you bite into the first one of the summer!

    • We had such great success when we were in the cottage, but the soil was wonderful there. It’s clay based here and a bit of a gamble as to what to grow. We shall see, and success pics will be published in due course.

Hopefully they will grow to good plants, full of tomatoes 🍅

Nothing better than homegrown tomatoes. Yum!
