Today is Friday, 10th April

Honest, it’s the 10th, though my original Fibbing Friday post showed it was the 19th!!
(Thanks Liz) Things were going OK until about 6pm last night when Hubby had a problem with his eye. It’s all sorted now but things were delayed a little, so I was late preparing my first posts for today.

Last night I walked the dog and as I emerged from the cut through, there was a tremendous round of applause. I felt like royalty and her ladyship was reveling in it all, holding her head high and wagging her tail. I was clapping too as it was 8pm and everyone was outside applauding our NHS and other unsung heroes as Covid-19 continues to take hold and claim lives. Good news today is that our PM BoJo is out of intensive care. Hopefully now our figure of 135 recoveries from this onslaught will increase to at least 136.

This morning we’ve taken a walk through the park, and the number of goldfinches there was amazing. We used to have a lot come into the garden when we were in the cottage, but I never got a photo. This one is from the internet.
It was nice that although there were some people, there was plenty of space for everyone to keep their distance. We went up on the goose bank and I felt like Julie Andrews about to sing The Hills are Alive, but restrained myself!

Coming back, we noticed a tree in full blossom in the garden where the badger sett is.
I took this with my phone from across the road so the clarity isn’t very good.

It’s another lovely day, a true Good Friday.
Let’s just hope the tourists stay away.
Keep safe everyone.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

    Happy Easter Di!

  2. Your local residential nature inhabitants are doing their best to encourage and cheer us. They have so much experience surviving with grace.
Authorities are trying to keep tourists away everywhere; we wish the same.
Stay safe and have a hoppy Easter ( or should that be chompy with the chocolate bunnies?) Smile on!

    • I have two chocolate Easter bunnies, an egg (I’ve already had the packet of maltesers) and a box of jelly babies. Trying to space them out!!
It’s been great to watch the birds, and without so much traffic noise, to hear their joyous song.

Hope your Easter is joyous! We are preparing for today’s church service as my husband is going in to sing (a small group)…

Have a lovely Easter weekend. X
