100 Word Wednesday: Week 133

Thanks to Bikurgurl for setting the 100 Word Wednesday challenge
It was the night of a super moon. This one was supposed to be one of the biggest and brightest to date.
The entire community came out to gaze at this beautiful silver orb in the sky.
Oohs and aahs could be heard in the valley as they echoed off the trees.
It was one of the youngest who posed the first question.
‘It looks so big because it’s close to the earth, right?’
There were nods and pats on the head.
Then someone really looked at it and blanched.
‘That’s not the moon and it’s getting bigger and closer’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Yikes! That’s not exactly as it appears, is it? Excellent story – thank you for joining us, as always πŸ–€

    • Thanks Kelly. Take care.

      • Thanks Kelly. Haven’t see you about for a while. Hope you and the family are keeping well.

We’re doing our best and just now thinking about actually interacting outside our house/yards with people in public …. how are you guys holding up? I’m dedicating today to my writing πŸ–€

      • We’re all OK thanks Kelly. Tourists are coming into the town but we’re giving them all a wide berth. Walking the dog locally is good as fellow residents/dog walkers all keep their distance. Masks and gloves when we shop, and avoiding the beach. It’s not too bad at the moment, but would you believe the circus has come to town!!!!!

I can only imagine! We want so badly to travel, but we need to travel safely. As I’ve examined my own illness in the past months, realizing I am actually at higher risk because of my cancer {though I am over 5 years with No Evidence of Disease}, as well as other health concerns, I am also keeping a wide berth, enjoying walking our dogs outside, and trying to keep both physically, but emotionally, healthy. It’s been a spiral of emotions for me on many levels, but it’s the change I need to see in myself, and in the world πŸ–€ I’m working on actually finishing the 400 some odd posts I’ve started and abandoned as drafts on my blog, trying to take this time of deep introspection and education to task here. Thank you so much for being a part of my writing world πŸ–€

      • The pleasure is all mine Kelly. Take care.

You as well, my friend πŸ–€
