It’s Friday! Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort.
Our words were:
anniversary, bitter, bootee, break, caring, corner, courtesy, crisp, delivery, divorce, duck, fist, love, moonless, mouse, Mum, palette, pay, quiet, round, time.
The night air was crisp and the sky moonless, reflecting her mood.
It was the third anniversary of her divorce, and for one as caring and loving as she, it had been a bitter pill to swallow.
She smiled now and held a tiny fist in her hand, a cherub face screwed up in concentration as a delicate bootee with a cheeky mouse embroidered on it fell to the floor.
It had been a quick delivery, no more than two hours after she felt her waters break. Her friend had done her the courtesy of running her to the hospital, but wouldn’t let her pay anything towards the fuel. The car was so small, she’d had to duck to get in the passenger seat, but she was glad that she only lived round the corner and so no time had been wasted.
All was quiet now, and she gently laid the sleeping babe in the crib beside her palette bed.
The love she felt for this precious human being knew no bounds. She was finally a Mum, and had proven she didn’t need a man in her life to be one.
