Three Things Challenge #179

Welcome to The Three Things Challenge.
Every day I’ll give you three things that will hopefully trigger your creativity.
You don’t have to use them all if you don’t want to, simply read the prompt and see what comes to mind.
You can use the 3TC, #threethingschallenge or TTC as a tag and the new logo if you wish.
There are no restrictions regarding length, style, or genre apart from keeping it family friendly.
Invite us along by creating a pingback to this post, then leave your link in the comments so that other people can read your writings and I’ll see it to respond to you directly. While you’re there, why not check out some of the other posts too!
I schedule the challenge to go out around 6.30am UK time, so as pingbacks have to be approved manually, they might not show immediately if I’m late accessing my blog.

I appreciate your continued support. Thank you all so much.
As always, have fun and I look forward to reading your responses.

Your three things today are:

You can probably guess where I’m going with this, but here’s my effort:

The panic buying has got out of hand, and it doesn’t matter which shop you go in, the shelves are stripped. It’s a sad state of affairs when someone throws a punch over a tin of baked beans.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. earlier posting

    Smile the world is ending

    smile the world is ending
    not with a bang
but with a quiet sad whimper of despair
there but for the grace of God goes I
    as God reveals himself
to be the ultimate joker of the universe

    today’s posting

the world is in full panic mode
as the dreaded C virus spreads through the land
making us all want to punch the walls
and scream make it stop make it stop

but the virus does not listen to us
    it does its virus thing
infecting both the rich and the poor alike
    eqaul opportuntiy offender

    but more poor people
because there are so many of them
    and so few billionaires

That picture immediately sprang to mind, Di! Just a quicky here in response:
I punch at the keyboard then turned to my friend. “It’s okay, don’t panic, you can go and shop. They are NOT sending helicopters over the country spraying us with anti-virus chemicals.” (True to life, I just had that conversation).

It certainly is Di, and I have seen back when I worked full time. I have seen punches thrown, tins, loaves bottles of wine, you name it I have seen it! But I have to admit it’s much worse now! 💜💜💜
