Thursday photo prompt: Lambent #writephoto

Every Thursday, Sue Vincent gives us one of her photos for a writing challenge.
You can check it out here

For visually challenged writers, the image shows a ray of light piercing the heavy clouds above a silky body of water bordered by dark hills.

‘I tell you, He will not be impressed! It’s all your fault, you let it out’.
‘It was an accident! I was reaching for my coffee and knocked it over. It’s YOUR fault as you’d left a gap!’
‘That’s right! Blame me for your careless clumsiness. The matter in hand is how are we going to get it back?’
‘Actually, I have a plan, but need your help.’
‘OK, what do I do?’

High in the heavens, two angels got together and worked their magic.
Using the gap in the clouds created by one, the other conversed with the Sun and asked to borrow one of his rays.
Using that, they probed an area of unpopulated landscape and extracted all the colour up into the skies.
‘Don’t worry, when Spring eventually shows her face, all will be restored and none will be the wiser. In the meantime, I can produce the Rainbow potion to Himself when it takes his fancy to send his playful deluges, as he calls them, to earth.’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Now I know who to blame for the constant rain the past few months 😉

Ha, great imagination. It certainly feels pretty bleak and grey out there at the moment.
