Three Things Chit Chat

It took Hubby and I over two hours to do some shopping yesterday for ten items on our list plus four for our neighbour.
Sounds awful doesn’t it.
Have you got images of queues, full car parks, busy roads?

Think again.

Travel time to and from was one hour fifteen minutes. Filling up with fuel took ten more.
Stop off for potty break for dog fifteen because she wouldn’t co-operate and we were getting cold.
We were in and out of our two supermarkets of choice which were at opposite ends of the town in under twenty minutes. We got everything we wanted without difficulty, all the traffic lights were in our favour as there was practically nothing on the roads, and it was an exceedingly pleasant experience. Time? Oh yeah, we were home by 9pm.
We had some horrendous rain last night around midnight. The wind picked up and we heard icy shards hitting the windows. We were waiting for crashes and bangs, but the garden fences and greenhouse were all intact this morning.
Tom and Jerry have been watered manually.
Today we walked the dog in the park. We walked the other way round this time but she still had to sniff everything at least twice.
I took this picture from the little bridge with my phone:
This is how it was last month: you might recognise the lamp post!

I cooked a spaghetti bolognese for lunch today. We haven’t had one for a while and in addition to the onion, minced beef and garlic, I added a chopped carrot.

I grated some cheese on the top and I must say, it was one of the best I’ve made.
For dessert, I used what was left of the can of pineapple from our ginger and pineapple pork the other day (no, I didn’t post anything on that), made up my stodge mix without the sultanas and put that on the top. It was all rather delish with custard. Sorry, no photo.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Looks like the water is back to nearly usual water level?

Yes, that strong wind and rain came out of no where hadn’t it? It made me peek through my curtains just to see how bad it was.
Glad everything was fine in the garden after the strong winds.

Must say I am sitting here drooling.

  3. Whew – glad you weathered that storm. It’s always interesting to see before and after pictures of the same spot.
can identify with the stopping for two sniffs at every blade of grass. But that and even a 3rd sniff is ok …they are worth the delay ( and pausing is probably good for us too)

Yes I get it no pictures of pudding because you are it way too quickly 💜💜💜

  5. Seriously hungry now. That’s so good.
