It’s Friday! Welcome to my Take Seven compilation which incorporates all 21 words (or derivatives) from the Three Things Challenge for the past week.
You are most welcome to join in using as many or all of the words too. Just pingback to this post and then leave a link to your post in the comments so that I can see it and respond directly.
As always, have fun, and I hope you enjoy this week’s effort. Looking at them, I think I may have stumped myself!!
Our words were:
biscuit, canvas, cross, fist, flex, hook, kick, low, medal, merry-go-round, pain, pillow, pressure, roof, rough, share, smug, sort, tiger, title, trowel
Danny felt it had been a bad idea to share the merry go round ride with his brother as it wasn’t the sort of thing that he enjoyed. Peter was a bully and chanted the title Scaredy Cat in front of his friends until he relented and climbed aboard.
As the pressure built up inside his head, Danny felt his fist clench and knew that could only lead to trouble. Using his elbow to hook round the undulating pole, he fished a biscuit out of his canvas bumbag to try and take his mind off his growing anxiety.
Suddenly cross with himself, he flexed his arms towards the roof of the ride and let out a low whistle of tension. Then with a gentle kick to the rough sides of the painted horse he was riding, he pretended he was stalking the big cat Peter was on in front of him. How he hated him knowing his inner pain, his sarcastic teasing so thick, it could have been applied with a trowel.
He promised himself there and then that he wouldn’t be intimidated any longer.
That night he felt he deserved a medal for his endurance, and wrapping his arms round his pillow, he was soon asleep dreaming of befriending the tiger and letting it eat his smug brother.
