About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You live near a beach? How lovely. I also like mature cheddar cheese, especially with apple slices. I haven’t played cribbage in years and now that you remind about it, I must get out the game and get my husband to play it with me. Thanks for the idea.

    • Thanks for commenting. We are lucky to have a lovely beach here which is dog friendly all year. My current header is a picture I took shortly after we arrived here.
Used to love playing crib with my Dad every night after my homework had been done. I play the computer now and still waiting to score that maximum of 29. I’ve had 28 a couple of times though.

Dr. Doolittle would be a fun character to be!!
Oh wow on how you met your hubby! 🙂

  3. Why Russian? Animals and nature are the best therapy.

    • Agree with animals and nature being best therapy.
As for Russian, I was no good at languages at school and think it’s a very passionate language. Apparently if you can speak Welsh, Russian is a doddle. My MIL was welsh and never taught Hubby to speak Welsh.

  4. Ah! Such lovely and interesting answers! I hope Miss Maggie had a good night too! Russian? All those wowel (vowel) groups…I am part Welsh and wish that had been passed down through the families as a second language. It’s lovely (when I’ve heard it spoken). I couldn’t UNDERSTAND it obviously…. O_o Lucky you and having a beach near by. All we got are those big ass mountains.

    • Sunsets or sunrises over the mountains Melanie? We have sunrise on the beach. Glorious and I’ve taken pictures.
Maggie is doing OK and we’ve had a call from the vet. She’s booked in for a head X-ray next week.
