Tuesday Photo Challenge – Action

Frank’s theme this week is ‘action’.

When Maggie was a pup, she was manic in wanting to explore everywhere and chase anything that moved.
Her curiosity was encouraged, that inquisitive nose of hers checking things out tentatively.

She would climb log piles in the woods, jump over groynes at Hamworthy Park and give me heart failure with double flips and launching herself off the end.
She would stalk gulls and crows before giving chase and on one occasion rolling a pigeon and not knowing which was more surprised, it or her for doing it.
She would lift a pheasant or ptarmigan from the undergrowth, watch it fly off as if to say ‘I did that!’ and once she gently flipped a tiny bunny because she was curious to know what it was. She didn’t hurt it either.
Get her in the water, and it can be a job to get her out.
Her speed was impressive and even now at 15, she’ll still have a go, though she stiffens up in her back legs and has to give up before she really has a chance to start, but the heart’s there.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
