Can you feel a song?

Interesting thought that.
I have a love of music, maybe not a wide taste, but once in a while I’ll hear something and it has an effect on me.
Such was the case this week when I was watching a Youtube clip and clicked on something else.
The performer and song reduced the audience to tears, and I must admit it did get ti me too. I followed it up by listening to a live performance (as this one had been) of the original, and well, IMO it wasn’t a patch on the cover version.
I checked out another cover of the song by a guy in a white boa and switched off before he got into the second line.
There are a lot of good singers who can sing a good song,  but there are few that feel it, or live it, as they sing.
Let me know what you think in the comments, and check out your own version of the original.
The first video has the lyrics in it, the second is the same clip but the quality doesn’t seem as good.
Enjoy. I know I did. A lot.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Never heard of her before, but she can certainly sing. I just did a Youtube seach on her and she has done quite a few songs some of which are very well known by other singers … and she still did a great job (see below):

    Great choice Di. Loved it.

A performance is way more effective if the singer is feeling the lyrics and is into the meaning of the song.
