Darts tonight and the girls played the best they have all season.
AND I MADE A POINT OF TELLING THEM THAT!
We lost nine points to three when we played this team in the first round, which was my first outing since my surgery. I didn’t play and suddenly folded so didn’t stay to the end.
As I’m down to the basic six players now, I’ve been playing and lost most of my games.
I won tonight though, playing the best I have for a while with a sheet shot of 114, and a lot of scores in the 70s and 80s.
My neighbour also broke her duck and won her game, shooting out on double 15. She was so pleased and it was well deserved.
At the end of the singles matches, we were three each and it was supper time.
My neighbour and I play well as a pair, though we lost our game as they got their doubles first. We won the next pairs game so everything was hinged on the final match, which went the full three legs. It could have gone either way, but double one bit us in the bum and we lost overall seven points to five.
I was really proud of the girls tonight.
The team spirit was back, everyone was relaxed and chatty, and they all played well.
We were finished early too and home by 10.30.
It’s the singles knockout next week. I’m not playing, but going as chalker and support to the three team members I’ve put in.
