I haven’t accessed my blog today until about an hour ago, and the first thing I did was approve the pingbacks and acknowledge the posts on the Three Things Challenge.
The day started normally enough, though Hubby twisted his knee badly yesterday and so was resting up. I took the dog for her first walk of the day, then nipped up the road to do a bit of shopping as I was making curry for dinner and had invited our neighbour to join us.
They are having a revamp in the supermarket. I couldn’t find a thing as the shelves are laid out differently and they have new freezers at the far end. Luckily I didn’t need much, but it still took me over half an hour to find the popadoms and frozen veg.
I thought I’d get some baking potatoes as the spuds in the rack were tiny and only good to go with a dinner not be one, and I could not believe what they were asking for them.
Last week, a pack of 4 were 49p. This week, the only four pack available was £1.19 so I left them there. I was not impressed and came away with a 1.5 kg bag which had SIX suitable big potatoes in it and loads of smaller ones for 99p.
Dinner was good though, one of my best and we spent a pleasant couple of hours chinning.
Hubby took Maggie for a second walk as he wanted to test his knee which held up pretty well and we’ve walked her together again since. One more now and then it will be bedtime. Where has the day gone?
Realising I have some birthdays coming up, I ferreted around in my reserve box and there wasn’t much to choose from, so I decided to make some cards this afternoon.
I looked at one I’d made last year and noticed it opened the wrong way. It had a window in it and I’d put my motif on when the card was upside down!! Two other larger cards were only half finished, so I sorted those out as well and made five others, plus two ‘Hello’ cards from some design packs I had that were too bold for backing so I folded them in half and stuck HELLO on the front. They look OK actually.
These are my efforts today………. the photos aren’t too good as I didn’t finish them until late and had to rely on artificial light to take my pictures.
The long one (top left) was from a kit and folding it the usual way, the picture of the pub was on the back! I folded it top to bottom instead and adapted a long calendar envelope for it. The Happy Birthday and butterfly are my personal touches.
