Precious has an outing.

Today, I have been wearing The Precious all day for the first time.
In truth, this is only the second time I’ve worn it, the first being for the darts team’s Christmas meal (you can read how I got on here)

I’ve said in previous posts that I am confident with or without it, but the question arose last night about my aim being off without it and thus potentially hindering my game, so I thought tonight I’d give it a try, kinda like a secret weapon LOL.

No hydraulics this time as I’m wearing one of the new ‘pocket’ bras and it’s really comfortable. With a full shelf on my chest I’ve had somewhere to rest my dinner plate, and everything looks and feels natural.
Hubby hasn’t said anything and I wonder if he’s noticed, but he’s not worried one way or the other either as long as I’m OK and not overdoing things.
We’ve had some practice games in the hall, 301 down, double in double out, and they were quick games as I didn’t mess about with my doubles! I won two games to one, but noticed I’ve upped my pace. I always used to play a fast game.
The team we’re playing tonight are the current division leaders I believe.
At the end of the season, the top two teams go up to division one, and the bottom two of division one come into division two. This team were in division one last year.
I’ve also got to put the names in for the singles knockout on February 11th. I’m in two minds whether to play, but I will go as chalker because the team can be fined if we don’t supply one. Most of the players on any team aren’t that good at adding up or taking away for that matter and there have been complaints about calculators on mobile phones being used to score which has put players off. A couple on my team are happy to chalk on our own matches, but not in a tournament.
No wishing to blow my own trumpet, but I appear to be one of the few who
a) don’t mind chalking anyway
b) can add up and take away quickly
and
c) prefer an old fashioned chalk board to an electronic one.

I only hope wherever the venue is that the chalk writes on the boards provided.
At the mixed pairs last time, the last game I marked before I folded was a nightmare as the chalk and board were incompatible.

I’ll be back later to update how I got on and our score. Would be nice to get a few points tonight.

Here I am:
The girls played better than they have for a while, but we lost 11 points to 1. The other team are very good, but we kept up and got down to a double each game, so it could have gone either way.
I was pleased with my games though, so maybe The Precious is going to be part of my outfit each week.
The names are in for the singles. Three of the team are going in and I’m going for support and chalker, but won’t be playing. It’s not clear where the venue is yet, so hopefully we’ll find out next week.
I’m tired, but not exhausted, so I’m feeling really good at the moment.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
