Wait awhile

‘All good things come to those who wait’.
That’s how the saying goes,
Patience pays a vital part as
How long the wait no-one knows.
It’s not unusual to stand in line
For a bus, doctor, or food,
Our middle name is ‘Wait’ it seems,
For the appearance of that ‘good’.
Romance and love are another thing
Don’t be too much in a rush,
So often we can simply mistake
The real thing for a ‘crush’.
‘Wait a minute’, or ‘Just a sec’
Are things we are often told,
The time frame is immaterial
Especially when you’re old.
Waiting for them is precious time,
A waste as it’s running out,
But then that is another wait
And what life is all about.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Yep. . Waiting is boring and frustrating. But we spend an awful lot of our lives doing it!
