Well, did you ever!

After Tuesday’s fiasco of the elusive doubles and defeat, Hubby and I have been playing darts in our hall in the hope of improving my aim.
We’ve been playing 301 down but double in, double out, so the score won’t count unless you’ve got a double first.
Tempting fate as always, Hubby was down to double 11 before I started but I managed to get down to just over a hundred before he got his double 4 to finish.
The second game was better and I started first, though he wasn’t far behind and I won that one.
Our first ‘set’ was five games of which I won 2.
Our second set later was four games and I won 3, though one was by default so of the 9 games played tonight, it was really four each on a double finish.

I hit double one no less than six times tonight, Hubby hit it twice, and we each had some good scores, me hitting 106 to start (double 13, treble 20 and a single 20) and later 110, but Hubby replied with 70s and 80s so we had some decent games.
Our last game had me down to 112 and my first dart went sweetly into the treble 20 leaving 52. I went for 12 and hit a double instead leaving me double 14 but instead I hit double 9.
Next throw at double 5 and I hit the wire on the wrong side, leaving me five. Hubby was hot on my tail so I had to make my next throw pay.
I couldn’t believe it as I hit DOUBLE ONE instead of a single, leaving 3, so had only one way to go which was a single and another double.
Look for yourself:

My third dart was the one right in the corner on the left.

I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. That’s some darts there. I hated double 1 and double 2.

    • I used to love 18s, but tonight seemed to favour 13s for getting off. Double 1 never really bothered me, it’s when I need a single 3 or 1 that sends my game down the toilet. Double 7 or double 3 is a bitch for me.

  2. Darts are fun! But sounds like you both shoot better than I do.
