FOWC with Fandango — False

Basically, I like to think there is nothing false about me and have always prided myself on what you see is what you get. I had my share of trying to be what was expected by everyone else, which only led to depression, a lot of soul searching and reorganising my life.
I wear glasses so that I can see where I’m going and as a younger woman I wore high heels which made me look taller and my legs slimmer (they also helped my darts game, and no I didn’t throw them instead).
My hair is its natural colour, though more grey than ten years ago but I still have a majority of brown. I had it highlighted once but had to have it bleached as the colour didn’t take, and then no-one noticed anyway.
Padded bras were not my thing, and not because someone’s ‘pad’ came out on the bowling alley and went fluttering down the lane to accompany her strike.
Following my mastectomy, I now have something ‘false’ which I have affectionately called The Precious. She lives in a box in the cupboard and I have only worn her once so far. I am comfortable and confident with or without her, but when we are together, no-one would know.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Good for you! I have begun coloring my hair again though I didn’t mind the silver, liked it in fact. But I have 10 more years (hopefully) in the business world, so I think it’s better I color it for now. Otherwise, I’m just honest because my memory is too foggy lately to keep track of lies!
