First Line Friday: January 17th, 2019

Thanks to Dylan Hughes for setting this week’s prompt. You can find out more here

Our picture and first line for this week are:
The scroll of the screen continued even after she closed her eyes.

Database after database flashed behind her eyelids, automatically cross checking and cross referencing everything she had seen.
Nothing was missed, and the chuntering of the printer confirmed everything shown on another screen in another room.
‘She’s amazing!’ the senior technician stated in awe.
‘Yes, I am,’ came the disjointed response.
Her eyes flicked open and revealed everything about him, even things long forgotten and the names and addresses of those who had fallen foul of his ambition.
One blink, and another set of data was immediately visible on the screen. He looked closer.
It was that of his wife and another………………..
The door closed quietly as his companion left the room, quickly punching in an autocall number on his cell.
‘He knows. Pack what you can and get out. You’ve got about ten minutes……’

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
