Frank has given us the theme of transport today.
My first thought at seeing the prompt was of course the boat, as not only was it our home but a means of getting out and about to see the wonderful sights and sounds of the river.
These will always be some of my favourite pictures of it

However, it was funny Frank should mention penny farthings as we actually have one and a rider locally!

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
I love these photos, looks like so much fun. I really love that bike!
Apparently he and his mate rebuilt it from scratch, and it was fascinating to know that only one screw held the handlebar to the frame!
Wow, that’s fascinating to know. Scary too.
Won’t catch me on one anyway!!

A longboat! That’s lovely.
Ours was 41 feet long and home for almost three years. We loved it but sadly circumstances meant we had to give it up.
41 feet! How hard is that to navigate?
You go slow (I frightened myself doing 4mph on the river), and what took an hour to reach in the car took 4 days by boat. It wasn’t too bad, I berthed her and took her in and out of locks, but I had my moments and took a few knocks. There are lots of posts here if you’d like to read them. I charted our final journey in April 2017 with loads of pictures.
I will definitely look for them. Thanks! It sounds much worse than driving a tractor-trailer. It also seems so romantic to live on a boat.
We loved it and made a lot of friends.
Here’s the start when you get a spare minute
