Enchanted Forest

The image below is from MarinaPriest at Morguefile and chosen for Fandango’s Flash Fiction Challenge today.

For the visually challenged writer, the image shows a large silver brain in a wooded area surrounded by trees.

‘There’s a lot to be said for a paper map Neil. Your latest toy has been taking us round in circles, and now we’re completely lost!’
‘Oh shut up Cynthia. It doesn’t take a brain of Britain to programme our address into the database. You must have done it wrong.’
‘Oh great! You’re blaming me now. Well, I didn’t want to come on this fanciful joyride anyway. I want to go home.’
‘Sometimes I wish you used your brain…………… hey! It’s gone awfully dark in here!’
‘Be careful what you wish for Neil. You told me this was an enchanted forest, remember?
Time for me to drive I think……….I’ll just put my brain in gear shall I?’

Written for this and Fandango’s FOWC challenge today.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
