December Theme #19

Music wouldn’t be music without some Motown, and my taste in music was changing.
I loved to dance, even though I wasn’t actually much good, but there was some great music around when I was in my teens, most of which is timeless.

What is a Man was released by the Four Tops in 1969.
I played it to death on my new record player, one that I had paid for out of my own money. I paid off so much a week at the shop until it was paid for, and then brought it home on the bus. In those days, you didn’t get a plug as standard, and although Dad had one spare, he didn’t have the right sized fuse. Not knowing anything about electricity (and not much more now actually!!) I didn’t want to risk blowing it up so had to wait until the following day to use it until we could get one!

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
