Let there be Light!

Christmas has arrived in our house and the tree is up!
Once again we have put it on the table in the window bay, and this year have given it a Christmas present.
Hands up everyone who has put the lights away after the festive season and everything works, but when you get them out again the following December, they either don’t or another bulb has blown.

Our little string of 20 lights we bought when we were in the cottage has done us well, and every year Hubby carefully put them away. Every following year, another bulb was discovered to have blown, but unlike in years gone by when if one didn’t work, none of them did, it did not detract from the pretty colours and they were perfectly adequate.
This year, Hubby was determined to have twinkly lights and got 100 on a string for less than £4.

Last year, Hubby bought a multicoloured disco light, but we couldn’t have it going for long because it disturbed the dog!
This year, she’s shown an interest, but isn’t bothered, so we are really festive in here!
But this shows it all……………..
Merry Christmas!

Note:
In case you were wondering, yes we still have our little tree.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Very pretty and festive. Still not a lot of decorations here. I don’t get it.

  2. Quite festive looking, very nice!!!

  3. Looks a lot lot like Christmas. My mum took them down New Years Day or sometimes the day before if she wanted to tidy up. Ours tend to stay up as long as they survive the pets.
