FOWC with Fandango — Stairs

Barney, our previous dog, always used to sleep under the stairs.
In our first house, this was a spiral staircase, and Hubby built a folding gate that could be put in place at night or when we were out to confine him to that and the kitchen. When he got older, we actually made him a proper run and kennel outside, though when we were home, he was always inside with us.
In our second house, he was content to lie at the bottom of the stairs, and made no attempt to come up, though when Mum came to stay he’d ‘show her to her room’ and then come back to his bed.
When we moved again, he was stumped. We’d bought a bungalow, so being a single storey property, there were no stairs. However, he soon adapted and slept on his beanbag in the lounge.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
