This week, Sue’s image shows green fields leading to distant, snow-covered hills, lit with the pink-gold glow of sunset.
She could see them in the distance, just a spec on the horizon, instinct calling them home.
Every year she watched for them from afar, knowing they would come in their hundreds to the breeding grounds of their ancestors and future offspring.
Long arduous journeys, perhaps casualties on the way, but still they came.
In the Spring they would leave, returning from whence they came, but for now, she would look out for the Canada Geese and revel in the wonder of it all.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
Migratory birds, always a pleasure to watch them. Nicely narrated. π
Thanks. I don’t know if it was a flock of birds, but my imagination told me it could be!
You are welcome. π
Great take on the Prompt.
thanks Sadje
A pleasure
It wasn’t…but imagination can paint them there π
It’s a lovely picture again though
Thank you.
Now you say it, it does look like it could be some geese. Nicely done.
Thanks Iain

Great use of the prompt, Di.
Thanks Robbie
Great post, but those Canadian Geese scare the bejesus out of me ππ
Really? We have a flock of around two hundred now, though only four are in residence at the moment because 2 can’t fly and their mates stay too as apparently they pair for life. In the summer, they are all here and the mess is terrible but the goslings are so cute!
Yes the gosling’s are delightful but the grown ups around are mean buggers π₯΄ππ€π
Some of them can be but I recognise a few ‘regulars’, one of which I call Radar as he never misses out on the seed bag! If they start hissing at me, I tell them off, but if they have young, I give them space and have been lucky in them letting me get quite close to take my pictures.
They are beautiful aren’t they ππ
fuzzballs!
Lo ππ
