Song Lyric Sunday 24th November 2019

Jim has given us a bumper theme this week, but my brain has gone into hiding.
November 24, 2019 – Bounty/Dessert/Eat/Feast/Food/Hungry/Turkey

Bounty reminds me of chocolate.
Dessert is pudding.
Eat, now I do a lot of that, so Feast (ice cream lollies comes to mind), Food (Oliver Twist), Hungry (Audrey ‘Feed me now!’ from the Little Shop of Horrors) and Turkey, well, I love this …………
So it has to be food doesn’t it, and what did I wake up with in my head this morning?
Last year’s UK Christmas Number One.
Now it has been known for me to sniff out freshly cooked sausage rolls from 250 yards when Mum had been baking and tried to hide them, so this one has a very special place in my stomach heart.

The Sausage Roll Song performed by Ladbaby.

We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls

If you’ve never had one
And don’t recognise the taste
It’s a cylindrical bit of pork wrapped
In a puff pastry case
Beige, baked and golden
Holier than grace
Grab it whilst it’s piping hot
And shove it in your face

They are party-sized to foot-long
Listen to your belly groan
Don’t you remember
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls

Christenings or birthdays
Or Uncle Jonny’s wake
You’ll find me at the buffet
Filling up my plate
A Ginsters on the M1
Greggs on platform three
I don’t care where I’m eating it
Smash it with a cup of tea

They are party-sized to foot-long
Listen to your belly groan
Don’t you remember
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls
We built this city
We built this city on sausage rolls

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! In November 2020, we lost our beloved Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney. We now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of Kizzy, my GSD when Hubby and I first met so had hers done too. On February 24th 2022 we were blessed to find Maya, a 13 week old GSD pup who has made her own place in our hearts. You can follow our training methods, photos and her growth in my blog posts. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
