What do you see # 4

Sadje has taken up the reins of this popular challenge originally hosted by dear Hélène who has sadly passed away.

Sadje lists the rules as follows:
You can write a post on your blog and create a ping back to link to the original post.
Write an original story, poem or a caption.
You have six days to respond to the Prompt.
I will try to reblog your response on my blog.
There is no limit to words or format but keep it family friendly.
I will do a round up next Sunday before the next Prompt is posted.
Please tag your responses with #Whatdoyousee

This was not the beautiful Lady of the Lake.
This was the wizened shell of desperation,
A Mother’s love in saving her child,
To save her from oblivion.
She drew her strength from deep within,
Clawing, driving, determined, lest
Her offspring fell into evil hands,
Until she was safe, she could not rest.
Finally, her efforts were rewarded,
Her daughter delivered to sanctuary and peace,
The price was much, she froze where she stood,
A warning to others, there was no release.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
