It might have been a nice view, but she was far from happy as she felt the sweat stick to the back of her nylon blouse.
She knew she relied too much on technology, but having lost her phone, she felt as if she’d lost her right arm as it contained all her friends contact details, photographs, messages, emergency numbers, and worst of all, her bank details………….. and the 24 hour helpline number.
Of course she had immediately reported it to the hotel but was finding the background classical music playing in the lobby far from relaxing. She tapped her acrylic nails (which had cost a bomb to hide her bitten nubs) impatiently on the ornate interior metal gate.
It was no wonder she was crotchety as she was still waiting two hours later for the Concierge to attend to her.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Oh dear, this is a most unfortunate thing to happen. My husband lost all his phone notes recently and it has been a bit of a catastrophe.

    • Thank goodness this is only a prompt entry.
I hope he’s found them Roberta. My phone only took and made calls and texts, but this replacement also takes photos. Because my phone has the numbers of friends and family in it, I also have an old fashioned address book!

  2. Sadje says:

Poor thing. Always a stressful job getting through these banks.
