TV makeover programmes had a lot to answer for. This came in handy when house hunting, but as with everything else, the purchase of the item, be it a car, computer printer, washing machine or house, was not the end of it as there were running costs to consider. Too many times a top of the range motor sat on a drive as a status symbol and little else because the owners could not afford to be kept it on the road.
The kitchen had potential…….. by the ton! An aga range, butler sink, pine wood cabinets and shelving, quarry tiled floor. Money was no object, but the contestants didn’t know that. Neither did they realise that the prize was the actual house with all the makeovers completed………. by them.
It should make compulsive viewing. He couldn’t wait to get started.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Fantastic twist, I love the storyline, Di! 🙌 👏

  2. It costs quite enough to maintain a ready-made house! Best of luck to him I say!

  3. DB McNicol says:

Gave me a giggle since we know folks who have been featured on various HouseHunter shows…lol.

    My take on the photo:
