Back home and glad to be!

I may have mentioned that we put our car in for a service and MOT earlier this month and she sailed through with a couple of recommendations.
We acted on getting the brakes done straight away even though it was suggested they were good for another 5000 miles or so, and at the same time asked the guys to check our tyres as one of those had been reported as wearing, but not worn.
We don’t replace tyres in ones but pairs, so thought to replace them all before winter, though the guys said it wasn’t really necessary just yet.

Following heavy rain and a near miss on the way home when someone overtook us and spun out of control when they hit a puddle of standing water and aquaplaned, we are glad we had made the appointment to have the front tyres changed next week. No-one was hurt in the accident but the car involved is probably a write off as it ended up in a ditch.
Our plan now will be as we did before and next year, will replace the second pair of tyres, putting the ‘new’ ones on the back and having the newest on the front.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Lucky no one was hurt and your car wasn’t damaged in any way.

  2. That was lucky. But tyres are so expensive

Good decision. Better do it before it becomes a danger.
