Monday Motivation : 16th September

It seems ages since I did one of these, yet apart from last week when Maggie was so poorly, it’s not as if I’ve missed a group meeting since I started on May 7th.
The usual consultant is back off maternity leave now, though she has also had chemotherapy for breast cancer, so I admire her enormously.
Tonight we went back over the basics, going through the books that we’re given in our introductory packs and tips and ideas were forthcoming from members to help overcome stumbling blocks. The tools are all there to help you, it’s just a case of applying yourself and changing not only your eating habits, but looking at the way you shop too.
She is sharing the same journey as all of us having put on weight not just over her pregnancy, but also the medication she had been given.
The group lost 33½ pounds between them this week, one of which was mine.
It keeps me within target, so I’m pleased about that, though my scales are more friendly and have dropped me into the next stone bracket. If this happened at group though, I would be out of target, be given a week’s grace and then if it didn’t rectify itself, I’d have to pay until I was back in target.
For the moment, I’m very happy with the way things are going as although I am not taking advantage of the extra syns two or three times a week and daily additional A and B options, I can have the occasional treat out and not feel guilty or anxious about a gain as I still have leeway.
Incidentally, I’m not wearing socks at weigh in now.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
