I find myself looking forward to these, thanks to PCGuyIV.

What is, or what would you do with, this?

It makes pretty patterns doesn’t it and saves an awful lot of fingerwork trying to crimp pastry for fancy edged pies. It also guarantees an even design, so no arguing over having the crustiest or fattest piece!
Or maybe it’s the early prototype for a sewing machine and the prongs on the top hold the cotton reel.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
The left side has a clamp for putting on your work table. As to the right, I am about 80% sure it is used with corn. I forget if it shucks the corn or takes the kernels of hard feed corn off of the cob, but there used to be a funnel, you’d put a cob in the funnel and turn the hand crank (that you see in front) and it would do its magic.
Sounds good to me. Have you linked into PCGuyIV’s post Trent?
No, I’m not sure if I will. Maybe. When I was a kid, one of the neighbors had one, so I’ve seen it before and actually used it. But I was about 7 at the time.
My Mum had a mincer and I remember mincing up the left over part of the joint for shepherd’s pie.
You’re close. This one is an apple peeler. The pboto was taken off of Google, but I have one that looks exactly like it, & yes, I’ve actually peeled an apple with it…once. It was a pain to clean, so I haven’t used it since.
Makes sense. The contraption I saw was one big hunk of cast iron, but the photo looked like the guts of the machine. Of course, I saw it more years ago than I admit to being alive 😉
Didn’t mean for that comment to go through as anonymous. Didn’t quite realize until after I hit submit that I wasn’t actually logged in.
I like the way you think! You have totally sold me on that idea.
Thanks.
It is an interesting looking gadget.
