Get up and Go…………

It’s always a joke to say Our Get Up and Go has got up and went, but today, I feel mine has simply refused to get up!
It’s been years since I felt this tired.
Hubby and I both know the three of us don’t travel well any more, but this tiredness goes beyond drained.
I cannot apply myself to anything, and am just going through the motions of getting and eating a meal, clearing up, and keeping the house tidy. Time for a course of multi vits.

We were up early this morning with the full intention of getting the mass of washing done since our trip and out on the line before going to collect our bath mat.
Not that we didn’t have one already, BUT as anyone with a foam backed variety may have experienced, hoover it a few times and it puckers up worse than a maiden aunt doing the rounds at a wedding.
Getting a replacement is easy………….. IF you want cream, white, pink, black or fluorescent green, none of which are suitable for a sedate mushroom and brown bathroom. The lady in the shop was expecting a delivery next day and kindly offered to put one by for us, but with being away, today was the first opportunity we had.

Rain stopped play, or in this case washing, so we went out early. By the time we’d arrived, it was actually quite pleasant, though a bit blowy. The mat set is perfect in colour, shame though that our toilet pedestal is slightly fatter than the cut out. But then if it was a snug fit, either sitting on or standing at, the throne, it wouldn’t accommodate your feet.
Ho hum. It’ll do and not a pucker in sight.

In trying to instill some enthusiasm, I was looking for some origami papers to experiment with the designs in the card books MSM has given me. NOTHING available in the usual outlets, so it may well end up coming from a local trader who has a good selection of craft accessories. Hopefully I’ll feel up to looking into that tomorrow.

The washing is done and out on the line now, blowing away merrily so should be dry in a couple of hours.  We’ve walked the dog, and she too is still feeling the after effects of the trip. She’s very stiff in her joints so we are walking her only short distances for the time being and still giving her the anti inflammatories.
No cooking today, I simply haven’t the energy. It’s only 3 pm  but I am seriously thinking of going back to bed.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Nothing wrong with an afternoon nap. I say, go for it.
