What to do when boredom strikes

Friday evening and the pair of us were bored silly. We’d had a snack tea and didn’t want anything else (even if I had it!!), and we haven’t played scrabble in almost a year.
Hubby didn’t fancy watching a film, the dog had already been walked, gently, twice, my blog was up to date as were my emails and I didn’t really want to get the card kit out.

So we went up to the pub.
Yep, us, and the dog, went to the pub, got a couple of sodas and had a few games of darts.
We ended up playing 7 games and threw some good arrows. I missed 180 and hit 121 instead, but it was damn close! I was bombing on down and over 220 points ahead, but could I get that final double? Could I hell, so Hubby caught up and took the prize.

There was a lone player in his team’s darts shirt (but no other members of a team in sight) on the other board, and had he asked to play the winner, we would gladly have given him a game. He was practicing hitting the 20s only, aiming for that 180 maximum, and when he eventually hit it, got the camera out and took three photos of it.
Meanwhile Hubby and I were neck and neck battling it out for double 1 to finish our final game and I got it first winning 4 points to 3 overall.

We came home and walked the dog round the block, where she graced us with two wees and a poo, and is now fast asleep beside me.

She has been moving a lot better today though we haven’t walked her too far in any one go and kept her on the extending lead. The cooler weather has helped all of us.
It made a really nice change to do something different together, even more so that it only cost us a couple of quid and a bit of petrol.

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
