Psst! Did you know…………………..?

I hate to say it, and it is one of the things a previous boss absolutely hated if mentioned, but it was brought to my attention today that it is only 2o weeks to

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

  1. Eek!!! Don’t say it!!! 😳

  2. Liz says:

Lol. Oh no you can’t. Not yet. You’re earlier than the shops. 😁

    • Er, no. There are cards for sale here already (and I made mine a few weeks ago…………….. I don’t get out much lol ).

      • Liz says:

I can understand making your own cards ready, as making your own cards can’t be rushed. I’m not ready for a count down though, or a display. I haven’t observed any shops yet. Lol I imagine it won’t be long given how earlier it gets with shops.

      • I’ve always liked to be ahead, and when I had a lot of gifts to buy, would start early (like now or September) to spread the cost. I’d wrap everything too, so by the time Christmas came around, I’d practically forgotten what I’d bought everyone and it was a surprise for me too!

      • Liz says:

Yeah, I have to admit when it came to buying I start early for that, so I wouldn’t see it hit my pocket. Money has been tight this year, that for the first time, I wonder be able to buy, accept for my mum. I have warned the family and friends not to buy for me this year, become I won’t be able to.

      • Forever on a budget for the last thirty years, until 2007 when we moved away we only bought a token gift for the kids, and a silly Β£1 pressie for the parents. We ended up trying to find the naffest presents for each other which stuck and sort of became tradition! We don’t have kids, but loved the silly gifts. Now I will only be sending a card.

  3. Almost time to get the Secret Santa gift blog going.

    • My supervisor was a pain with the Secret Santa because she would work out who was buying for who and it spoilt it a bit so when they put the price of the gift up to Β£10 from Β£5, I didn’t join in, especially as we were buying gifts for our separate departments which were expected to be a fiver each and having five to buy for, I just didn’t have the money to spare.

  5. Paula Light says:

Lol! Doesn’t matter to me, since I’m Jewish. I’ll just enjoy the lights without having to shop like a lunatic πŸ˜€

    • We have our Β£10 dash which I absolutely love as the sillier the better but we are only allowed to spend Β£10 on each other. No pressies to send away now, so it’s just us and we love it that way.

oy did ya have to remind lol

  7. In that case, Easter Eggs will be on sale soon!

    • Oh don’t, haha. I remember one year seeing the Easter Eggs (Easter being early April) delivered on Christmas Eve. They sell the Cadbury’s Creme Eggs and mini eggs all year anyway.
