Things are on a go-slow again here and WP seems to be stalling or timing out on me.
I had a flag saying there were 12 new posts in my reader, then suddenly this changed to one. Expecting to see several posts I hadn’t read, I was surprised to find just the one.
This happens sometimes and when I go back later, a lot of posts have come in interwoven with those I have already read! Must be a time thing. That and the weather again.
At least we didn’t have a power outage here. We have wind farms up the road and also on the beach horizon in all directions.
Work is currently being carried out to add further turbines to those already off the coast. We counted almost a hundred from the prom on a clear day and understand in total there may be as many as 288. These should be fully operational in 2022.
I always thought they were majestic and mystical, nearly buying a property that had a sole turbine about 300 yards from the back garden. The woman said she never heard it and it wasn’t intrusive, though the day we viewed her property, it wasn’t working. We went back unannounced the following day when it was, and the ‘whoosh’ of the blades was intrusive!
We’ve since been on a campsite that had two turbines over the hill, and we heard those when the wind was in the wrong direction.
We have seen small turbines on the roof of a couple of private properties. Seems you have to have planning permission and also are restricted as to when you can have it running because of ‘noise pollution’. I guess TPTB believe the wind only blows during the day then.
They should have been here last night.
