So much for it not being a nice day today.
It’s 28º C (82.4 F) in the corridor and 22.5º C (72.5 F) in the bedrooms which haven’t got the sun yet.
Maggie got me up at quarter to six then we went back to bed finally surfacing just after 8.
The plan today was to hire the Rug Doctor and clean our carpets, but with rain forecast later, we didn’t like the idea of them not being able to dry fully so we’ve put it off.
The wet patch on the wall has dried out nicely, so after breakfast Hubby decided to do the repair properly with mortar whilst I walked the dog.
With the recent rain showers, the grass has grown faster than we’d like, so when I got back I decided to cut it.
I did the back first, not only because it’s the biggest and hardest area because of our plants and pots, but because the sun doesn’t reach it until the afternoon so it was cooler. I was sensible though and wore a sun hat.

Much better than this when we moved in almost 2 years ago.
It took me almost an hour then it was time to do the front.
It’s less than a third of the size with no obstacles so nice and straightforward, and I did it in about twenty minutes with Hubby sweeping up behind me.
All done for another 10 days at least, I was hot and sticky so had a shower and washed my hair which was sticking to my head without the aid of glue, hairspray or mousse.
Despite my hat, I am now sporting the body Tee Shirt ie white where the material was and pink on my arms and chest. I also have some adorable panda eyes!
Everything I was wearing was peeled off me and put in the wash which is now out on the line.
I’m padding around in my nightie as it’s too hot for jeans or joggers, and we’ve got the fan going. Maggie has found a cool corner and is giving it ZZzzs, bless her. Hubby has crashed out on the sofa. The heat is draining him.
Darts tonight. A home match against one of the stronger teams if memory serves me right from the first round as they have two professionals playing for them. Hopefully the stickers and Mickey Mouse here will pay off and I won’t disgrace myself. However, pushing the lawn mower has resulted in a blister on my thumb so I just hope it’s not in a place that will hinder my aim (hehe)
