My day started just after 6am when Maggie stirred. I got up and let her out into the garden but she didn’t want to do anything so we went back to bed. I woke up again at 8.30.
Nothing on the agenda today, so I had a shower and washed my hair, then had breakfast.
We are working on making our home darts games more fun and playing round the clock (aka Mickey Mouse) before a game which is improving my aim.
After that, we called out random numbers to each other and aimed to get all three darts in that sector. Then Hubby put a scrap of paper on other random numbers and we had to hit that before moving on.
Although I’ve won the MM games so far, our first batch of singles matches went 2 to 1 in Hubby’s favour the other night. Last night we played 3 games and I won all 3, though my scores weren’t that high, and not a single treble twenty in sight, but at least I hit my doubles to finish.
Today, we walked up to town with the intention of buying some coloured dots to improve our aim even more. We walked through the park and there has been another brood of ducklings hatch in the last week. Only 3, but they are adorable.

We were greeted by several females and their babies as we approached the lake, but had no food for them today. Not that it mattered, they stayed with us plus about two dozen others and didn’t worry about the dog. We had a funny instance when one surfaced from a dip and surprised Maggie to the extent that she ran into the bushes as the equally surprised duck swam off in the opposite direction then high-tailed it on the water.
(this isn’t my picture).
There aren’t many geese here during the day now as they’ve got their new flight feathers. We have two pairs who are resident all year, one has a badly damaged wing and can’t fly with his mate, and another has what looks like an electric burn on his wing feather quills so can’t fly either and he too has a mate. I believe like swans, they pair for life.
At the boating end of the lake we found the First Family of 2019, that being two adults and six goslings which are almost as big as the adults now.

Town was quite busy, but the doubtful weather probably put a lot of the day trippers off so we were able to have a cup of tea so that Hubby could have a rest. We didn’t go to the cafe for carrot cake and cheesecake as that’s a treat for later on, but I did get a sausage roll for Maggie which she polished off with no problem.
We got our dots, actually ‘Smileys’ in various sizes, so can start big and gradually diminish as our accuracy improves.
Dinner today was fish and wedges for Hubby and a tomato, bean and pepper pasta for me.
Our snack meal tonight, should we want one, will be beans on toast.
Weigh in tomorrow, so we shall see if I’ve lost the sock gain or had another one to make a pair!
