I’m going with The Big O and this:

There are several versions, Ray Price, Elvis, Englebert Humperdinck and probably the best remembered Solomon King.
I remember an instrumental of it in the 1997 Sci-Fi Starship Troopers and it became one of the better pieces I could play.
She wears my ring to show the world that she belongs to me
She wears my ring to show the world she’s mine eternally
With loving care I placed it on her finger
To show my love for all the world to see
This tiny ring is a token of tender emotion
An endless pool of love that’s as deep as the ocean
She swears to wear it with eternal devotion
That’s why I sing, because she wears my ring
She swears to wear it with eternal devotion
That’s why I sing, because she wears my ring
This tiny ring is a token of tender emotion
An endless pool of love that’s as deep as the ocean
She swears to wear it with eternal devotion
That’s why I sing, because she wears my ring
That’s why I sing, because she wears my ring
Written by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant.

Great choice!
Thank you!
Nice one Di. Sung by a man who is proud of the girl he loves and Roy Orbison could hit some notes.
His range was phenomenal and exceptional for a baritone
One of the few songs by Felice and Boudleaux Bryant that was not covered by the Everly Brothers. Great song!
It took me ages to find the writers! Thanks for the info.
I haven’t heard that one in a long time Di. Great choice!! 🙂
Thanks Christine
