Enthralled, she watched the night sky come alive with thousands of stars.
The whole street had come out to look at this amazing phenomenon.
Rooted to the spot, it took a while to realise the lights were larger and coming closer.
Too late, sparks began to fly, and people vapourised before her eyes.

About pensitivity101
I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes!
We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too.
From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives.
We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
It’s the makings of a Stephen King novel there.
Probably where I got the idea from Gary. I read a lot of his stuff in the ’70s.

Dear Di,
Dare I say, “enthralling story”? Well done.
Shalom,

Ha. Thanks Rochelle. Have a great weekend.
Well done, Di!
I am struggling to use enthral in the present tense but man… I find myself wanting to just do like you and add the ‘ed’ 😉
‘She wanted to enthral her audience’ maybe?
Methinks so 😉
Wow, was not expecting them to be vaporized. Nicely done.
Hi Jo. Hope all is OK with you. Thanks for commenting today.
Yes. It seems summer can be as crazy as the holiday season sometimes. 👍
Good one Di! A sci-fi story.
I have my moments!
Nice one, Di.
Thank you!
Now that’s a scary story.
War of the Worlds type of thing………….
