We’ve been out and about today so blogging has taken a back seat and I’m playing catch up.
After our fitter left just after 10am, we decided to go shopping and asked our neighbour if she needed anything or perhaps if she’s like to come with us?
She jumped at the chance, so we went to Skeg and have had a most enjoyable day in her company.
We stopped off to let Maggie have a wee and walked round the lake to check on my new pet, which she hadn’t seen before.
She had a little bit of shopping to do herself, and as we had nothing that could spoil, we decided to have lunch out which was a lovely cup of tea and a chicken salad roll made to order with no spread or mayo. We sat on a bench in the shopping precinct whilst Maggie scrounged off all three of us and people watched.
There were people and dogs of all descriptions, shapes and sizes, one a five year old cocker spaniel that was absolutely gorgeous but a little nervous. It didn’t help that a pair of brats were bombing the pavement close by with ‘snaps’, little cracker balls that exploded on impact with a hard surface. If they had come any closer, I intended to have a word with the parents, but they moved away from us up towards the Esplanade and amusement arcades.
Back at the car, we gave Maggie a drink, then headed for home.
We got back just after 3pm and had a very welcome cup of tea, our neighbour returning home about 4. She said she was pleasantly tired, so all being well she should sleep well tonight. I hope so, as she says she hasn’t had more than four hours a night since her husband passed away. It’s hard to believe that was five weeks ago now.
A day relaxing!
That was such a kind thing to do. Does she get along with Maggie? Would Maggie stay with her for an hour or so?
She has offered to have her in an emergency. Hubby had gone into a shop for paint and rang me about colour, so I had to join him. Maggie was content to stay with her on the bench for about ten minutes and there were no problems.
Good!
Nothing like a cup of tea after a trip. I really understand the lack of sleep thing.
I hope she sleeps well tonight.
Good to get away from the pc occasionally. I must do it too, one of these days…
This reminded me of our trip to Chicago. Don’t think I’ve so many dogs of all shapes and sizes before!
There are hundreds here, and I’ll fuss them all if given the chance. With the holiday season upon us, more visitors with dogs, but sadly most don’t clear up!
