All In!

Well, half the year is officially over as we begin the month of July.
Our double glazing fitter arrived at 8.15 this morning, so I was glad I’d got up early and just got back from walking the dog.
Nine panels to fit, and we were the first of three jobs on his work sheet.
For us it was a simple case of out with the old and in with the new, and we believe that with new sealed units, the noise levels will be reduced.

As the conversation progressed, it turns out our fitter’s wife joined the same SW group that I go to two weeks ago, having changed from the Wednesday meetings here as she found little support in group. I said I’d look out for her and introduce myself.
I did so to a lady who fitted the description, but it was not the member I was after, Still, we had a pleasant chat, and it turns out she moved here in September 2017 the same as us.
I didn’t see anyone else arrive that could have been our fitter’s wife, so settled down to the group summary who had lost a whopping 40½ pounds between us this past week. Two of those were mine and one was my new friend who joined the same night as I did.

It was a tasting session this week, so after the awards and nominations for the Diamond Slimmer of the year (those who have maintained their target weight for a year), we all got stuck in to some very tasty goodies.
I took in my beetroot, cucumber and tomato salsa which went very well with the savoury quiches and bakes. I couldn’t tell you how many syns I packed away overall, but most were either syn free dishes or extremely low, so I don’t think it would have been too drastic.

As we were enjoying our supper, the individual losses and encouragements for non-loss were discussed and the lady I was looking for was tucked away by herself in a corner.
She said she is finding it difficult as she used to go with her sister and they would support each other, but now that she’s moved away, she misses the support, feedback, and comparisons. My new friend and I invited her to sit with us in future and that we would support her, swap ideas and general chat if she so wished. This actually went down very well with the group, and all being well the three of us will sit together next week.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.
