Updates: 23rd June

Hm. Seems it works for me too, having cut the grass yesterday now it’s raining.
Still, I got Hubby’s washing done, and although not quite dry outside, there’s not that much so I’ve got it hanging up indoors.

I had a good night’s sleep, but sadly Hubby didn’t as he couldn’t get comfortable and lying in/on a bed all day hasn’t helped much. Still, he has come to an arrangement with the nurses that he can disconnect himself to go walkabout during the day as long as he doesn’t leave the ward. We have no idea how long he’ll be kept in, so I’ve got some juggling to do as I have a dentist appointment on Wednesday for a filling and have to give 24 hours notice of cancellation. It’s not bothering me, so I can postpone that until next month.
SW weigh in tomorrow at 5.30 and hopefully I will have lost my intended pound.
Again not a problem as Maggie can come and I don’t have to stay, and I can miss darts on Tuesday as we always have surplus to a full team.

Speaking of darts, Hubby and I were in the middle of a game when he was taken poorly on Thursday, so I finished it off today and he won. I played on his side of the board against my usual erratic self,  having two scores going. I don’t cheat either, and have to admit I was well matched as the scores were level pegging on several occasions. I won two games to one, getting out both times on double 1.
Yes, it’s very sad beating oneself, but I needed the practice!

I cooked a piece of gammon for dinner which I had with new potatoes, salad, green beans and carrots. It was actually too big for me, so Maggie helped which was good as she’s got used to corned beef in her food and hasn’t eaten very much these past few days.
I bought some more yesterday and put half a slice in her breakfast and the other half in her dinner. OK, she went snorkeling and fished out the yummy stuff, but having added gammon to her dinner this afternoon, she’s eaten well, so I’m relieved.

Time to settle down for the evening (or until 9pm when it will be time for Maggie’s final wee) and hopefully get some posts and challenges out.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Hopefully being able to walk around will help your hubby and he’ll be more comfortable. I’m sure it’s hard on both of you to have him in hospital. Hope he can come home soon.

  2. Any sort of dart win is worth it. Enjoy your settle down

I hope you remembered the charger for the laptop, as the poor man will need it. At least he can find lots of interesting to occupy his mind…
