Hammered

Just got back from darts, and we were totally hammered but at least it wasn’t a whitewash.
We lost 11 points to 3, but my partner and I won one game, as did our captain and his partner, and our ladies won the 701 gallon.
I played pretty well, getting our winning double with no messing about (hurrah!) and would have liked a shot at the final double but the other lady had a lucky dart and I didn’t get the chance.

I put my plan of attack into action today and had something to eat this afternoon instead of going out hungry. I had been careful with my syns all day, not having cereal this morning, especially as we were having fish, but I loaded my dinner plate with veg and saved a few that way too.
The supper tonight was the usual pork pie, sausage rolls, crisps, chocolate bars, mini scotch eggs, mini stuffing balls, and large plates of tuna, egg, ham and cheese sandwiches.
I had the equivalent of 2 slices of bread and a load of picked onions. The onions were free, but the bread was extra so I have over synned today, but certainly not as much as last time.
Dinner tomorrow will be ginger and pineapple chicken with rice, so five syns for the pineapple rings are already allocated. Everything else I put in the meal is free apart from 1 syn for the sugar. With leeway for another 9, I could still have my cereal for breakfast and a hi-fi bar, or have 2 hi-fi bars for my B option and forego the usual 60g of dried apricots.
It’s all a question of balance.
It would be nice to lose 2 pounds next week as it will take me into the next stone bracket, but I shall be happy with a loss of one.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

You reminded me of the scene in “A Hard Day’s Night” with Ringo playing darts (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjd2M_UER8Y It starts at 1:45).

    • Funny John! Glad to say all my darts hit the board last night and no fines (we pay 10p into the kitty for every score twenty or less) Thanks for the link and commenting.

  2. I will keep my fingers crossed for next week
