Sunday Photo Fiction- May 26, 2019

This week Susan is using one of her own pictures for the Sunday Photo Challenge.

Jack and Jeff were discussing the pyramid over a pint at the Pig and Whistle.
‘I’m telling you, the old fool didn’t say a word!’
‘Didn’t he need planning permission? What do you intend to do?’
‘I have no idea. Guess I’ll have to talk to him. It’ll have to come down. Mrs Ramsay is doing her crust as it blocks the sun in her garden. She says it’s like living in a tomb.’

Jeff hunched his shoulders, not looking forward one iota to the task in hand.
He remembered vaguely some months back his father saying he had an idea for a garden feature, and both he and his wife had nodded in agreement thinking cute little bridges, a pond perhaps or worst case scenario, a tribe of gnomes.
Never in a month of Sundays did they imagine coming back from a fortnight in Tenerife to the Land of the Pharaohs  in their back yard.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

LOL … well done! I especially liked the bit about the gnomes …. which at the very least, would be perhaps not as “offensive” … but yes, yikes! and what a wonderful expression “in one’s crusts” … brings a smile to my face, not something one hears often over this way 😉

  3. NIMBY! Actually, it could become a tourist-attraction and earn useful bob or two!
