Friday Fictioneers: 24th May

This week Rochelle has selected a photo from J Hardy Carroll

Nimmi had been looking forward to her friend’s party all week.
Her Mamma had made her a new dress, and she understood there would be lots of lovely things to eat and games to play.
She had heard they had pin the tail on the donkey which was her favourite.
On arrival, she saw a real donkey in her friend’s field and got a bit nervous!
Turned out he would be providing rides for the guests later.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

(Lincolnshire coast? Don’t read Bjorn’s piece unless your canal boat is still available.)

  10. James McEwan says:

I enjoyed this, it shows how a child’s mind can get confused.

  11. It was a relief to get that straightened out. A good story and well written, Di. 🙂 — Suzanne

Littles do tend to take things literally…. good thing someone caught her in time. It would be a shame to see a flying “nimmi”. Great story.

  13. Abhijit Ray says:

A donkey ride! For all guests or only the losers in the game? It is a surprise!

  14. Haha, yes, I would be a bit wary about trying to pin a tail on a live donkey
