FOWC with Fandango — Gaffe

Gaffe, oh yeah! I can identify with that in so many ways!

Wearing evening dress to a social do when everyone else was in casual clothes?
Wearing casual attire when everyone else was dripping in furs and diamonds?
Smoking roll ups at a posh dinner party?
Demanding to know why a brandy snifter glass wasn’t filled to the brim?
Best has to be my Dad at a firm’s dinner taking part in the beauty contest because he thought it was a joke (he didn’t win).
This has a part two as the guy who was best man at my first wedding attended said dinner and spoke of some idiot taking part. He then had to meet my Dad to discuss the wedding.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have an elderly dog called Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

Is it supreme self-confidence or dim-wittedness that enables some people to carry off the most cringe-worthy gaffes without turning a hair?
