DIY done

The spare room has been painted and come up a treat. Hubby has also given the skirting boards a new coat of gloss.
It looks like we may have to replace the blind but that shouldn’t be too expensive, and we’ve already purchased new bed linen as the double duvet cover we’d been given was so thick and warm, it was ideal for winter, but too hot for the summer.

Hubby took the old bed down to the tip as we realised we hadn’t seen the scrappy for weeks and didn’t want it hanging around.

Info: each square took me 2 hours to complete and there are 56 in this one.
The other one we keptย  has 90 in it.

We’ve also cut the grass back and front, so have had a busy day.
The back garden is looking a lot more colourful now.

We’re getting there.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination and wacky sense of humour which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! We have recently lost our beloved dog Maggie who adopted us as a 7 week old pup in March 2005. We decided to have a photo put on canvas as we had for her predecessor Barney, and now have three pictures of our fur babies on the wall as we found a snapshot of my GSD so had hers done too. From 2014 to 2017 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat where we made strong friendships both on and off the water. We were close to nature enjoying swan and duck families for neighbours, and it was a fascinating chapter in our lives. We now reside in a small bungalow on the Lincolnshire coast where we have forged new friendships and interests.

The crochet blanket is so beautiful.

  3. Love the cover Di, you have done a fabulous job on that ๐Ÿ™‚

I can well believe the 2 hours per square, how long did it take you to craft up completely, apart from the obvious answer 112 hours and only if you did it one week — but over how many months was that? Also same question for the 90, do you have a photo of that?

  4. Looks good. I love the crocheted blanket. I thought about getting back into knitting and crocheting, but I don’t think I have the patience for it any more.

  5. The crochet blanket is amazing ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. That crocheted blanket makes your spare room pop! All your hard work and dedication to create a beautiful piece paid off! Thanks for sharing!

    • Thank you. I made three when we were in the cottage, but gave one to my Mum to put round her legs when she sat in her chair by the french windows to watch the birds.
