FOWC with Fandango — Slide

Childhood comes immediately to mind, a dog, and a holiday.
We were staying with family, holidays were usually that but we never minded as it was a change of scenery, and there was a kid’s play area about a fifteen minute walk away.
They had two slides, one for the big kids, and one for the toddlers.
The former was huge, and had a hump in the middle. Most of us actually sat on a mat or piece of cardboard on the way down as you picked up quite a bit of speed! If you weren’t careful you could launch from the middle and end up flying through the air. They probably took that slide down years ago and built on the land. Still, that was around 55 years ago!

In our local park we had a more modest slide, and the dog loved it. He would climb up the steps, position himself just so at the top, and then push off.  He was always first in the queue and the last to leave.
Happy days.

About pensitivity101

I am a retired number cruncher with a vivid imagination which extends to short stories and poetry. I love to cook and am a bit of a dog whisperer as I get on better with them than people sometimes! Due to a nightmare of a house sale in 2014, 'Home' was a 41 foot narrow boat until April 2017. We made strong friendships both on and off the water, and enjoyed swan and duck families for neighbours. Sadly times change and we now reside in a small bungalow a short distance from the beach on the Lincolnshire coast.
